Tin Can Bay is a lovely town with only 2,000 inhabitants. It is a great holiday destination for all nature fans. For a truly unique experience, do not miss the opportunity to feed dolphins here between 7am and 11am. The dolphin feeding is regulated and closely monitored by the Queensland Government with a group of volunteers on site to ensure it is an enjoyable experience for both humans and dolphins. Make sure to read and follow all the rules.

Randers Tropical Zoo features the largest artificial rain forest in Europe, with mirroring the three rainforest continents: South America, Asia and Africa. Observe giant lianas, roaring waterfalls, and more than 450 different tropical plants, and 250 species of animals, and more than half of them walk around freely. If you are brave, you can also get very close to the snakes in the Asian snake yard, or to an armadillo or a green anaconda, which is the heaviest boa constrictor species in the world. For having a break from this wildlife experience, you can take it low with traditional Danish farming animals at the playground, or with a drink and a snack at the cafe.

The dazzlingly colourful Sri Mahamariamman Temple is the cultural and religious hub of George Town’s ‘Little India’ quarter, home to immigrants from the subcontinent for more than a century. Encrusted with garishly painted statues of deities, demons, and mythical creatures, the Sri Mahamariamman is the oldest of the city’s Hindu temples and is still in daily use. Inside stands a valuable statue of the Hindu deity Lord Subramanya, lavishly embellished with gold and precious stones.

Not far from the city centre lies this basilica, which is said to have been built upon the place where St Peter landed on his way from the Aegean Sea to Rome. If you walk in, you can admire medieval paintings and beautiful frescoes, both on the left and the right side of the church, dating back to 1200 and 1300. Around the location, where a small village has arisen, one can go for a walk and look for some local restaurants.
